The Australian Fungal Diversity Initiative (AFDI) was founded by a group of citizen mycologists for the purpose of documenting and sequencing macrofungi across Australia. We collect, voucher, and sequence native macrofungi to understand and conserve fungal diversity.
Get involved
We are seeking all mushroom enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, to collect (with permits) a goal of 2,000 mushrooms throughout all of Australia in 2027.
